Thank you for taking the time to visit my site.
I was brought up in a small village in Norfolk watching my father paint copies of great artists like Van Gogh. My interest in art began watching him in his studio painting and later as I grew up, constantly discussing the merits of modern art versus the old masters. He would never be without his camera to capture the family and other interesting subjects, which he then committed to canvas.
I started painting seriously when I moved to North Yorkshire in the 1980’s. My love of animals was the inspiration to start painting commissions which I then picked up by attending craft fairs with my two young children in tow. Following a move to Middleham shortly after my arrival I progressed onto painting the racehorses exercising on the moors.
I spent many hours perfecting my techniques and understanding of the medium of watercolour painting. Today I still paint animals but have expanded my repertoire to include family portraits, rural landscapes and Richmond street scenes.
At quiet points in the day, i can be found working on my latest creations in The Showcase Gallery in Richmond.
